Why we built HarmoniqSuite

After nearly two decades managing orchestras and performing arts organizations, our CEO and founder knew the job inside and out — including everything that made it harder than it needed to be. The same information updated in multiple places. Documents reformatted from scratch. Endless email threads to track down a simple answer. Years were spent building workarounds, filling gaps, and making do with tools that weren't designed for orchestras. Eventually, instead of patching the problem, we built the solution.

Finally, everything is one place - HarmoniqSuite is a single platform for administrators and musicians alike. Scheduling, programming, hiring, communication and administrative workflows. All of it, designed to work together intuitively and beautifully, without a steep learning curve or an enterprise price tag. We built it for the mid-sized and smaller orchestras that have always deserved better, and we made sure it was affordable enough that no organization ever has to be priced out.

We believe Artistic Operations is, at its core, an act of care — for the organization, for the team, and above all, for the performers. When everything runs smoothly and communication is clear, musicians can walk in and focus entirely on the music.

That's the environment every great orchestra deserves and HarmoniqSuite is how you build it.

Anna Harris
CEO + Co-Founder

I've spent the past two decades working in Artistic Operations — managing the schedules, rosters, contracts, and logistics that need to line up perfectly for a concert to happen.

I've worked at organizations of every size, from regional orchestras, major institutions and academic institutions. Along the way, I kept finding myself building the same fix over and over: a better way to organize information and get it in front of the people who needed it, whether that meant a musician portal, a smarter scheduling system, or just a new way of sharing the rehearsal calendar that didn't involve four different documents.

I was frustrated by how much time I spent formatting documents, moving information from one place to another and having to update the same thing in four different places. So, we created a better way and built HarmoniqSuite.

COO + Co-Founder

I've been building software for most of my career, from academic research to Silicon Valley, where I've worked on operating systems, networking, storage and distributed systems across research labs, startups, and technology companies. I have a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge. While I was there, I was also one of the original developers of the Trojan Room Coffee Pot—an early experiment in networked computing that unexpectedly became the world's first webcam. It was a fun example of the kind of thing I've always enjoyed: building something useful simply because we could.

HarmoniqSuite grew out of work with my cofounder Anna, solving a problem she experienced every day: the complexity of managing an orchestra and all the people, schedules, performances, and details that go along with it.
